Donor Care Manager - Overland Park, KS
The Donor Care Manager is responsible for creating and leading a donor-centric program to engage, retain, and grow the organization’s donor base. This role ensures a high level of care and communication with donors, fostering meaningful relationships that inspire continued support. The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and a passion for advancing humanitarian causes.
Donor Relations & Stewardship
- Maintain long-term, meaningful relationships with existing and prospective donors.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for donor escalations, ensuring prompt and professional responses.
- Implement a stewardship program to celebrate donor contributions and milestones, ensuring timely and personalized acknowledgments.
- Display strong customer support skills and maintain professional interactions with donors at all times.
- Engage with donor messages across multiple social channels to ensure a positive donor experience.
Customer Support & Communication
- Resolve basic customer concerns regarding services via phone calls and email inquiries.
- Ensure consistent, respectful, and donor-centered communication with both donors and team members.
Operations & Documentation
- Complete tasks and projects of basic complexity accurately and within defined timelines.
- Thoroughly document work in an organized and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and confidential donor records in the CRM system, adhering to data protection policies.
Data Analysis & Performance Monitoring
- Analyze donor giving patterns and trends to inform engagement and retention strategies.
- Monitor key performance indicators related to donor care and propose improvements based on insights.
- Generate regular reports on donor engagement metrics, financial contributions, and campaign outcomes for leadership.
- Provide actionable recommendations to enhance donor care strategies in alignment with organizational goals.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and oversee a team of donor care specialists, providing guidance, training, and ongoing support.
- Evaluate team effectiveness and ensure a consistent donor-centered approach across all interactions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with other departments to align donor care efforts with broader development and organizational goals.
- Partner with administrative and operations teams to improve workflows, including automation requests, forms, integrations, and user training.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in management or a related field required; equivalent experience will be considered.
Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in donor relations and/or customer service.
- Proven track record of cultivating and retaining donor or client relationships
Skills & Competencies
- Exceptional interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and inform decision-making.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
